Belfast City Council Award for Jack McMillan

 Jack Mc Millan, Bangor Swimming Club, was awarded the Belfast City Council Junior Sports Person of the Year Award at the recent awards evening held in Belfast City Hall.

Jack received his award from Conal Heatley, CEO Commonwealth Games Council NI and was nominated because of his achievements in swimming during the last year.  In Year 13 studying for his A-Levels Jack balances study with 10 workouts a week in the pool and gym and during the 20116-2017 season he has achieved the nomination time for the 2017 Commonwealth Youth Games and consideration times for 2017 World and European Junior Championships.

In December 2016 Jack established new Irish Junior Records in 200m and 400m Freestyle, and an Ulster Senior Record in 1500m Freestyle Short Course.  He was also a member of the Bangor Relay team who set new Irish Records in Medley and Freestyle Team Relays both at the Irish SC Nationals in December and Irish LC Open in April 2017.
